3) Tracking US Congress
4) Bill to Law Simulation--Legendary Legislation
a. You will be divided up into the House of Reps and the Senate
b. Individually, fill out the appropriate Google Form for your class with 3 ideas that would improve our school, community or classroom. KEEP IDEAS SCHOOL APPROPRIATE.
c. Vote for and select a "Speaker of the House" and "President Pro Tempore."
d. Discuss and debate the potential bills and select your top 3 that must pass with a majority.
e. Those 3 bills are moved to the other house for debate and voting. If they pass with a majority, the bill goes to the President's desk.
f. President will sign or veto. Congress can override veto.

Growth of Holly Springs, Teenage Substance Abuse, WCPSS Policies, Social Media/Internet Effects, Racial Equality, LGBT
Equality, Homelessness, Bullying (Cyber or Otherwise), Teen Driving Issues, etc...If you choose another issue that is not listed
here, make sure to clear that with Mr. Rhodes.
b) Write one paragraph identifying the issue and explaining how/why it is a local problem (5 pts)
c) Outline your detailed solution to this problem with a step by step action plan: (12 pts)
1) Specify the length of time and cost for each step of the plan (6 pts)
2) Specify the local/county/or state wide group or agency that will assist you with that step of the solution (6 pts)
-This could all include lobbying on the local/state level for laws to be passed dealing with that issue--but that cannot
be the entirety of your solution
d) Write one paragraph explaining why yours is the best solution to the problem. (8 pts)
